In April 2007 Recupyl opened its first lithium-ion battery treatment plant through a joint venture with Tes-Amm Singapore Pte Ltd, a specialist in electric and electronic waste recycling.
This joint venture, called Recupyl Tes-Amm Singapore Pte Ltd, serves industries ranging from computer manufacturing and assembly to battery manufacturing, mobile phone production, and local battery collection (by manufacturer associations, for example).
Its Singapore-based plant handles various types of batteries-mainly, but not exclusively, from Asia-including production scraps, manufacturer-recalled batteries, and end of life batteries.
Tes-Amm provides a support to the joint venture in Asia, Europe, and the US.
